Prospect Spring Fair
In 2017 the Prospect Fair changed its name to the Prospect Spring Fair and moved to Broadview Oval. The first year was a huge success with over 10,000 people visiting the event. The larger space allowed for more stalls, more attractions and generally a much better event.
It also meant for the first time in nearly 40 years that residents from the East Ward didn't have to cross Main North Road to visit the Fair.
I lobbied successfully within Council for the event to be moved from St Helen's Park to the Broadview Oval.
Prospect Gardens / Narnu Wirra Upgrades
One of my 'targets' when I was campaigning in 2014 was for fencing to be installed on the southern side of Prospect Gardens/Narnu Wirra.
Not only did we achieve the fence, but we also scored a new electric BBQ, new alloy picnic benches, including a wheelchair inclusive bench, two new gates on the western side and new soft-fill under the play equipment.
New fencing around the tennis courts has been promised and new play equipment is currently in the process of community engagement.
It's all happening!
Picnic Table Sunshade
In 2017 the SA Government created a program called Fund My Neighbourhood, whereby the community could nominate community projects for funding.
I submitted an idea for a Picnic Table Sunshade at Prospect Gardens/Narnu Wirra. It was unsuccessful for State funding, the City of Prospect believed the project had great merit, and it was funded internally as a part of the Parks and Gardens Strategy.
'Our Prospect' Podcasts
This project was one of the ideas I brought into the 2014 election and I was able to make it all happen.
40 Podcasts were created covering all aspects of life in the City of Prospect. They are available to listen to on Apple iTunes.

And here's some of the backstory...
Galway Avenue Street Trees
Like a lot of our feature places in The East Ward, Galway Avenue was way overdue for some attention. Over 200 Eucalypts were planted down the centre of the median to create a feature boulevard that will only get better over time.
Buchanan Street Resurfacing
Buchanan Street has been on the long term financial plan to be resurfaced for a number of years, but for whatever reason has always been bumped down the order.
During recent works, it became apparent that only the kerbing was slated to be replaced and that the street surface was only to receive a 'spray seal'.
I was able lobby successfully for Buchanan Street to be properly resurfaced as listed in the long term financial plan.
The Carbon Footprint of Traffic Calming
Speed humps are the traditional easy fix for local area traffic management, but just how bad are they for the environment? How much extra fuel used and how much extra CO2 is expended into our atmosphere every time we drive over one?
I called for a report on the carbon footprint of speed humps and now we have hard data that we can use in making decisions regarding traffic management.
